Most Anticipated Disney Movies

1. Deadpool & Wolverine

2. Moana 2

3. Inside Out 2

4. Mufasa: The Lion King

5. Thunderbolts

6. Captain America: Brave New World

7. Zootopia 2

8. Avatar 3

9. Snow White

10.   The Fantastic Four

  1. Deadpool & Wolverine

Projected Release Date: July 26th 2024

The relationship between Deadpool and Wolverine in the Marvel comics has been that of “frenemies”. Sometimes they are at each other’s throats, and other times they put their differences aside and team up against a common enemy.

It seems like Wolverine despises Deadpool for his psychotic and sarcastic nature, whereas Deadpool envies Wolverine because he is everything he wishes to be. Deadpool & Wolverine promises to be a fun-filled adventure, given the clashing personalities of both characters.

  1. Moana 2

Projected Release Date: November 27th 2024

Modern Disney princesses are warriors at heart, so they do not exist to be rescued by some prince charming. Moana is the perfect example of a strong and determined young woman who sets out on a mission to save the people of her island from blight.

Moana 2 hints at another grand adventure across the ocean into dangerous waters. Moana is called upon and guided by her ancestors, so let’s hope for more awesome musical moments during the forthcoming voyage.

  1. Inside Out 2

Projected Release Date: June 14th 2024

The first Inside Out movie released in 2015 painted a vivid picture of internal emotions. It also showed us that life-changing events can suppress certain emotions and highlight others. Inside Out 2 will continue the story of young Riley and portray her emotions while she copes with puberty among everything else.

  1. Mufasa: The Lion King

Projected Release Date: December 20th 2024

Disney has made some remarkable movies revolving around the infamous antagonists from our favorite fairytales. First, there was Maleficent, who turned out to be Aurora’s true hero, and then came along Cruella who was revealed as a misunderstood fashionista wronged by her own mother. I almost expected a heart-touching backstory for Scar as well, but Disney is doing a one-eighty by making a movie about Mufasa instead.

  1. Thunderbolts

Projected Release Date: May 2nd 2025

If you’re a devoted fan of Marvel comics, you are probably familiar with the Thunderbolts. They are a team of reformed supervillains, so you may consider them an antihero squad. The upcoming movie Thunderbolts is about these converted rogues who are sent on an important mission by the government. The plot does remind me of Suicide Squad from the DC universe; what are your thoughts on this?

  1. Captain America: Brave New World

Projected Release Date: February 14th 2025

Another Captain America movie is in the making and Disney plans to release it next year on Valentine’s Day, which raises questions. Why did they choose this particular date? Does it have some significance, or was it random? Whatever the case, I’ll definitely go for a superhero flick rather than watching some sappy rom-com.

  1. Zootopia 2

Projected Release Date: November 25th 2025

Zootopia 2 is finally happening! I’ve been in love with the adorable rabbit and fox duo since 2016, and I can’t believe they’re making a comeback in 2025. The chemistry between the rookie police officer and over smart conman was contagious in the first movie. This time around the pair will be solving a whole new case, and I’m here for it.

  1. Avatar 3

Projected Release Date: December 19th 2025

The first Avatar movie (2009) was groundbreaking, and the second one released thirteen years later (2022) was equally successful. It totally makes sense that a third movie is added to the lucrative franchise, but what’s shocking is that it’s happening just three years later. If you treasured the first two parts of Avatar, buckle up and be thrilled for the third.

  1. Snow White

Projected Release Date: March 21st 2025

I’ve seen a couple of live-action versions of Snow White already, but none of them were memorable. Their diversion from the script of the animated movie made in 1937 was a bit unsettling, so I hope this upcoming film is true to the original. However, if you look at the cast, Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen is debatable, to say the least.

  1. The Fantastic Four

Projected Release Date: July 25th 2025

Let’s conclude the list with another Marvel movie. This one features an iconic family from everyone’s favorite fictional universe, and I have high hopes from Disney. Several Fantastic Four movies have made it to the big screen in the past, but they didn’t make quite the splash. Let’s see if this one is any different!

Final Thoughts

Which of the upcoming Disney movies has you excited? Are you going to save the dates for every movie in the Marvel franchise or do you look forward to live-action adaptations of your favorite animated films?
